Had another beta today.
It's 4 days later, so we were looking at a number 4x 195. That would be at least 780.
My beta came back at 735.
My reaction to the nurse was "oh, that's not good." And well, it didn't quadruple.
Of course the nurse said I should not be alarmed yet. And tht if I spoke to the doctor he probably wouldn't make a big thing of it.
But- she did offer me to come back in 2 days for yet another beta. (I did have the option of just waiting til next week for a scan... but if the numbers aren't doing well, I would rather know sooner rather than later not to expect a heartbeat next week.)
So- I appreciate all the good wishes and various forms of "woo hoo". But it appears that I am not out of the woods yet.
Now is the time that I appreal to you, my wonderful internet ladies of support. Who cn regale me with stories featuring similar beta happenings that had a desirable outcome? Please help.
Oh, it would be so nice to be naive at this moment...

I'm sorry I can't offer reassurance in the form of firm numbers, but I am thinking about you tons and hoping for the BABIEST outcome.
xoxo
My numbers never doubled /quadrupled like they were supposed to . They were almost there which was worse in some ways - I would've preferred definitively bad or good -not almost okay. All that to say I am currently trying to convince the outcomeS of that pregnancy to go to sleep right now. (Twin pregnancies generally start with higher betas but double the same as singletons. )
I hope you have good news in two days and a great scan next week
I just calculated your beta doubling time (on betabase) to be 2.08 days or 50.15 hours and that is WELL in the typical range for continuing pregnancies. The average doubling time is NOT 48 hours... It is 48 to 72 hours!!! My beta doubling time was 58 hours and my newest ladies man is snoozing next to me. None of us can be sure but I'm thinking yippee for you still.
Thinking of you.
The incertainty is so hard!
Hang in there!
My cousin's betas never did what they were supposed to do either. They were always lower than they should have been and she was always going back for retesting.
She now has healthy 2 year old twin girls!
I also have a friend who was told by her nurse not to get her hopes up because her betas were so low. She now has a daughter who is 18 months old!
So there you go!!
